Dr Jessica Ahlers
Lead Vet
  • BVSc

Jessica grew up surrounded by animals on a cattle property in a small town in far North Queensland. She always had a passion for helping animals and thus, decided to study Veterinary Science, graduating from James Cook University in Townsville in 2013.

Jessica moved to Rockhampton and joined our team in September 2014. She has a keen interest in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery.

In her spare time Jessica enjoys spending time at the beach with her dogs Panda and Fitz.

Dr April Gaskell

April grew up in Rockhampton before leaving for James Cook University in Townsville to study Veterinary Science. April has a Bachelor of Veterinary Science and a Bachelor of Science focusing in Zoology.  April returned to her home town, joining our team in 2019. 

She has a keen interest in exotics and wildlife, especially birds. When April isn’t working hard she is with her partner Matt and their two Whippets Rue and Nova, she also has three birds of her own.

Dr Maya Robinson

Maya grew up in NZ and graduated from Massey University with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science in 2006. After graduation, Maya completed an internship in medicine and emergency medicine in Sydney. Since than she has travelled and worked in several countries around the world and in 2010, Maya and her husband moved to Central Queensland.

Maya loves all creatures, big and small - especially cats and dogs, and really enjoys meeting the many wonderful pets that come through the doors at Rockhampton Veterinary Clinic. When Maya is not at work, she enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 children and their many pets.

Practice Manager/ Vet Nurse

Trisha has worked as a Veterinary Nurse at Rockhampton Vet Clinic since 2007. She has a degree in Veterinary Technology from University of Queensland and a Bachelor of Science from CQU. 

Trisha loves animals of all kinds and sizes and has two dogs, Zues & Laddy, and a cat named Bobcat.  Trisha and her husband Lance are the proud parents of a gorgeous toddler named Eric and have recently welcomed an addition to their family – Baby Lincoln.

Vet Nurse

Lauren joined our nursing staff in 2015.  While Lauren loves working with animals she has recently decided to pursue a career in human nursing.  She would love to work as a midwife and expand her skills to bring not only furbabies into this world but also human babies. 

Lauren enjoys movies and reading in her spare time.  She has recently welcomed a new furbaby into her life – a Maltese X Shih Tzu named Gus.

Vet Nurse

Suzi has been working at Rockhampton Vet Clinic since mid 2017 and has since completed her Certificate IV in Vet Nursing. She has a special interest in surgical nursing within the clinic. Suzi also runs our wonderful Puppy Preschool.

Suzi has a passion for patient care and likes to learn as much as she can about each and every patient that comes into the clinic. In her spare time Suzi enjoys horse riding, reading and spending time with her special pets which include, a dog, horse and other animals.

Vet Nurse

Sarah is one of our newest vet nurses here at Rocky Vet Clinic. Her smiling face brightens the day of our clients and patients and she is a welcome addition to our staff. She has recently moved up from Adelaide and is finishing her studies in Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing.

Pictured with her is her new fur baby, Perry. He is a 4 month old dachshund who has stolen everyone’s heart at the clinic with his cute but naughty personality.
